Jessica Moorhead Fun & Fitness Day

On February 24, Creekside hosted the Second Annual Jessica Moorhead Foundation for Hope (JMFFH) Fun & Fitness Day. Prior to hosting the JMFFH Fun & Fitness day we have participated in a fundraiser to benefit St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

The JMFFH is a non-profit organization established in 2003 to benefit young cancer patients in the Mahoning Valley. The foundation focuses on the needs of patients in the Pediatric/Adolescent Cancer Program of Tod Children’s Hospital. The vision of the foundation is that all children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer will enjoy long, full lives.

With the help of our participating members and a number of guests, Fun & Fitness Day was a success. Participants had an opportunity to receive a chair massage, participate in a number of additional group classes and a Chinese Auction. Boomer, the official mascot of the Mahoning Valley Thunder was on site for a couple of hours along with Miss Greater Cleveland Elyse Healey. A few of the YSU football players were also at Creekside to show their support.

We would like to give a special thanks to Astro Shapes for sponsoring the event t-shirts, Cleveland Clinic Star Imaging for sponsoring the Bouncy Boxing and a huge thank you to Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik for signing autographs and greeting the members and guests.

As a fitness community, Fun & Fitness Day raised a total of $2,036, which was donated to the JMFFH. This year the event flourished with the help of all of the sponsors, donors, members and guests and next year’s event promises to be even better.
